NewsAntigua gains observer status on ECTEL2012-10-07 10:34:57 | (0 Comments)
Antigua and Barbuda is set to gain observer status with the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL).
This after the government signed a declaration of collaboration with ECTEL, the body that regulates telecommunications within the sub-region. Antigua and Barbuda’s Telecommunications Minister Dr Edmond Mansoor says the agreement signal the government’s intention to begin a long term relationship with ECTEL that will end with full membership with the regulatory body. He says the country also stands to benefit from the expertise that exists within the ECTEL structure, particularly in the area of telecoms regulation, spectrum reform, and spectrum management.
