Grenadians injured in bus crash

2012-10-08 14:41:14 | (0 Comments)

Federal authorities in the United States are probing the crash of a Toronto tour bus in which 23 Grenadians were injured, when the bus flipped over on a highway and skidded down an embankment.

Officials say the bus flipped onto its side on Saturday at an Interstate 80 exit ramp about 25 kilometers northwest of New York City.

The crash sent 23 of 57 passengers on board to hospital, eight with critical injuries.

US Federal Motor Safety Carrier Safety Administration officials say they are probing whether the bus company could legally operate in the US.

However, US state troopers say it will take at least two weeks before they determine what caused the tour bus to lose control and skid off the ramp.
