(AP) — Seismologists say a magnitude-5.3 earthquake has shaken Costa Rica.
There are no immediate reports of damage.

The US Geological Survey says the quake occurred at 6.19 a.m. and was centered eight miles or 14 kilometers north-northeast of the town of Nicoya.

The epicenter was about 22 miles or 35 kilometers below the surface.

The agency originally calculated the magnitude as 5.8 but later revised it downward.
