Attacker hospitalised under police guard

A man is now in hospital under police guard in connection with the shooting death of 41-year-old Leroy Morris in Downtown Kingston yesterday.

The police say Morris was shot during a dispute in South Parade about 4 p.m.

His attacker was later shot and injured by a policeman, who was in the area when the incident happened.

The police said a Taurus 9 millimeter pistol, with the serial number erased and a magazine containing 16 nine millimeter cartridges were seized during the incident.

The matter has also been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations.
