Upset councillors at the St Catherine Parish Council are to seek an urgent meeting with the State Minister in the Local Government Ministry, Colin Fagan, regarding the transfer of Secretary Manager Christopher Powell.

According to the councillors, no concrete information has been provided about why Powell is being moved.

He is being transferred to the Manchester Parish Council.

On September 13, all 41 councillors petitioned the Parish Council Service Commission questioning the transfer and asked that the move be shelved.

However, in a letter to the council, which was read at its general meeting yesterday, the Commission stated that it stands by its decision.

The upset councillors said they want the intervention of the local government ministry.

Chairman Norman Scott told the meeting a delegation of three councillors will be working to reverse the decision to move the secretary manager.
