The case involving police Corporal Dwayne Smart who is charged with the murder of a pregnant woman has been put off until next month.
Smart is charged for the September 1 shooting death of Kayon Lamont. In the Home Circuit Court today, Smart was remanded until November 2. At that time all the relevant documents in the case are expected to be ready. Smart is facing the charges of murder, wounding with intent, assault, and illegal possession of a firearm. It’s reported that Lamont and the policeman got into an altercation after he attempted to arrest her for using indecent language. During the scuffle, the pregnant woman was shot twice in the head reportedly by the policeman.
