Guatemala leads Jamaica 1-0 at half time

Hosts Guatemala have scored early in their World Cup Qualifier against the Reggae Boyz inside the Mateo Flores Stadium in Guatemala City.

In the sixteenth minute, Carlos Martinez penetrated four Jamaicans in front of the goal to find the back of the net.

Jamaican coach Theodore Whitmore was not happy, folding his arms in silence on the sideline.

Earlier both teams had failed to score from two corner kicks each.

A wide-open Luton Shelton would later get two clear chances, but on one occasion, he failed to get a shot off and on the second, sent the ball soaring over the goal.

Near the end of the first half Je-Vaughn Watson got another chance for the Reggae Boyz but he failed to score and a minute later he was taken off and replaced by Dane Richards.
