In the sixteenth minute, Carlos Martinez penetrated four Jamaicans in front of the goal to find the back of the net.
A wide-open Luton Shelton would later get two clear chances, but on one occasion, he failed to get a shot off and on the second, sent the ball soaring over the goal.
Near the end of the first half Je-Vaughn Watson got another chance for the Reggae Boyz but he failed to score and a minute later he was taken off and replaced by Dane Richards.

In the second half, Jose Contreras brought down Jamaican Dane Richards in the box and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot.
Luton Shelton would make it 1-1 for Jamaica from the penalty spot in the 61st minute.
The Reggae Boyz then sought to step up the tempo, but a goalkeeper’s error caused a corner kick to the Guatemalans in minute number 85 and Carlos Ruiz headed the ball into the net to seal a win for the Central Americans.
The loss means that Jamaica is now third in Group A on seven points.
Antigua and Barbuda who face Jamaica on Tuesday are at the bottom of the table on one point.
