Jamaican electrician killed in garage collapse in Florida

2012-10-15 20:02:27 | (0 Comments)

The 53-year-old Jamaican electrician who was missing following the collapse of a parking garage under construction in Florida last Wednesday has been found dead.

Robert Budhoo’s body was found this morning.

Budhoo’s sister in-law, Sevina Singh says his wife positively identified him but authorities have been unable to retrieve his body from the rubble because the site has been deemed unstable.

Budhoo’s family had hoped he would be found alive although authorities had said there was little chance of him surviving the collapse.

Budhoo lived in Florida with his family but is originally from Clarendon.

He was working at the parking garage when it collapsed.

Three construction workers died and eight were rushed to the hospital.

The cause of the collapse is being investigated.
