Arrest warrant for former cop

The Home Circuit Court has instructed that a warrant of arrest be executed for former policeman Michael McDonald, who is down as a witness in the murder trial of constable Rushon Hamilton.

Hamilton is on trial for the murder of Kingston schoolgirl Jhaneel Goulbourne.

McDonald should have testified on Friday but he did not show up for court.

Instead he had sent in a sick leave notice which expired yesterday.

The Crown had asked that the arrest warrant be stayed until today, but McDonald again failed to appear before the court.

The judge then ordered that the warrant be executed.

The murder trial continues tomorrow.
