Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller will today participate in the first of a series of parish fora aimed at providing the public with information on key aspects of national development and parish-level concerns.

Today’s forum will take place at the Jose Marti Technical High School in St Catherine and will begin at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.

The series will provide an opportunity for Simpson Miller to engage the public on a range of topical issues and for the public to share their concerns with the prime minister.

The parish fora will also provide an opportunity for relevant government agencies to update the public on programmes and initiatives specific to the local and parish levels.

Today’s meeting is under the theme ‘Government and Governance.’

It will be addressed by the Local Government and Community Development Minister Noel Arscott, as well as members of civic and community groups and business leaders.

The parish fora series is being organised by the Social Development Commission, an agency under the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development.
