Captain Barkey killer commits suicide

The Haitian man wanted in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend and Jamaican artiste Captain Barkey is reported to have killed himself.

Reports out of Miami, Florida say 42-year-old Joseph Kernizan committed suicide while a task force was trying to get into his building to arrest him.

Kernizan had earlier been placed on a no-fly list because the police feared he would try to flee.

Captain Barkey, whose real name is Wayne Hamilton and his female companion Tracey Bennett were killed on Saturday morning while leaving a motel in Bronx, New York.

The woman is said to be the mother of two of the Haitian’s children.

The police say Bennett had had a restraining order on Kernizan at the time she was killed.
