Another weather system has developed in the Caribbean and could become a Tropical Storm in a matter of hours.
The Met Service says at 4 p.m. Tropical Depression Nineteen was located near Latitude 22.3 degrees north and Longitude 51.7 degrees west or about 1205 kilometres east northeast of the Leeward Islands. The Depression is moving towards the north near 11 km/h and an increase in forward speed is tonight. A turn toward the north northeast is forecast on Tuesday, followed by a northeastward turn on Tuesday night. Maximum sustained winds are near 55km/h with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours and the Depression could become a Tropical Storm tonight. At the same time Tropical Depression Number Eighteen has strengthened to Tropical Storm Sandy.
