Members of the Portia Simpson Miller-led Cabinet this morning met with disaster officials to discuss the impact of Hurricane Sandy.

The meeting was held at Jamaica House.

The outcome of the talks has not yet been revealed.

Hurricane Sandy tore through eastern parishes of Jamaica yesterday causing one death and a trail of damage.

Other parishes received heavy rainfall, but there was no significant damage.

As many as 1,500 people had moved into emergency shelters.
