The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) says it is coordinating activities to ensure the clearing and collection of household garbage and hurricane related debris across Jamaica within the next seven days.

However, the NSWMA says this is subject to access by road.

Householders are asked to separate regular solid waste from hurricane related debris.

They are also reminded not to put out dead animals for collection.

The NSWMA says large metal objects, old or damaged furniture, bathroom fixtures and other bulky items will be collected at a later date.

CALL THE NSWMA AT 1-888-253-2652 or SEND A TEXT MESSAGE AT 448-3220.
