NewsFood for the Poor assess losses to small farmers2012-10-27 18:51:33 | (0 Comments)
The charity organisation Food for the Poor says it is now conducting a preliminary assessment of the losses caused by Hurricane Sandy to small farmers in several eastern parishes who are part of its Economic Diversification Programme.
Food for the Poor says once the audit is completed, it will assist those who have suffered losses to resuscitate their crops. The Economic Diversification Programme for Banana Producing Parishes was launched in June and is scheduled to run for 16 months and seeks to provide alternative income-generating opportunities for small farmers. It is financed by the European Union through its Banana Support Programme and implemented by Food for the Poor. editorial@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
