Bizarre weather hits Bermuda, disrupts flights

2012-10-28 17:39:14 | (0 Comments)

A system believed to be a tornado caused extensive damage when it hit Somerset in western Bermuda this morning, cancelling several flights.

The incident occurred as Bermuda remained on a tropical storm alert due to Hurricane Sandy, which passed along Bermuda’s west coast causing dangerous rip currents.

It is reported that the driver of a car was lucky to escape when flying debris flattened his vehicle.

Photographs also showed that roofs and walls were damaged in the village.
The Bermuda Weather Service has not confirmed if the system was a tornado.
