Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer

The police have taken into custody scores of persons from the Tawes Pen community in Spanish Town, St Catherine following the murder of a woman on Saturday.

A curfew has been in place in the area since this morning.

During a raid this morning, more than 100 men were detained.

The police say the men are being processed.

Senior police investigators say the operation forms part of the police force’s anti-crime initiative.

On Saturday night, 53-year-old Donna Cowan was shot and killed by men wearing army fatigue.
