Portland Hurricane Relief Fund launched

Member of Parliament for west Portland Daryl Vaz, has announced that the Portland Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund will be extended to the people of St Thomas and St Mary.

Vaz, who initiated the fund, says he has asked parliamentarians in those parishes to contact him.

According to Vaz, several companies, including Food for the Poor have so far indicated their support.

He says Food for the Poor is donating US$100,000.

The Education Minister Ronald Thwaites has said an estimated $92 million in damage was done to schools in Portland.
