February trial for broadcaster, accomplice in Jody-Ann Gray attack

Broadcaster Wayne Whyte and Safari Farr, the men accused of the attack on broadcaster Jody-Ann Gray, are to go on trial on February 11.

The date was set today when they appeared in the Gun Court.

They were further remanded.

In court today, defence lawyers Christopher Townsend and Tamika Harris, who are representing Whyte, said they were ready to proceed with the trial but there was an outstanding statement from an expert witness.

Senior Puisne judge Gloria Smith ordered the prosecution to serve the statement on the defence by next Friday.

Wayne Whyte and Safari Farr are charged with wounding with intent, illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

Jody-Ann Gray, was attacked as she arrived home in Cedar Grove in Portmore, St. Catherine on April 4.

She was seven months pregnant.
