Ex-cop faces more questions today in Boulevard murder trial

The defence in the Boulevard murder trial is expected to continue its cross-examination of the main prosecution witness when the case resumes today.

The case is being heard in the Home Circuit Court before Justice Horace Marsh and a 12-member jury.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Victor Barrett and Constables Paul Edwards and Louis Lynch have been on trial since last week Monday.

The Crown is alleging that Oliver Duncan and Kemar Walters were abducted by the constables from a plaza on Washington Boulevard, St Andrew on December 23, 2004 and have not been seen since.

It is alleging that the Assistant Superintendent covered up the case.

Yesterday the defence sought to discredit the main witness, who is a former policeman.

Under cross-examination, the witness denied suggestions that he lied an effort to secure his release from murder charges in relation to Duncan and Walters.

Asked if the statement he gave against his colleagues in May 2009 led to the dropping of all charges against him, the witness said he had not been charged with anything.
