The Jamaica Public Service Company says about 8,000 customers are still without power as a result of damage to infrastructure during the passage of Hurricane Sandy last month.

According to JPS President and CEO Kelly Tomblin, 4,000 of the customers are in St Mary and 2,000 in St Thomas and Portland.

She says the company is still facing restoration challenges.
