NewsUS authorities ground low-cost carrier EZjet2012-11-09 16:35:48 | (0 Comments)
The Guyana government has confirmed that United States authorities have suspended the operations of low-cost carrier, EZjet.
Aviation Minister Robeson Benn says the Department of Transport suspended the airline's operations yesterday but local authorities only learnt of the move today. One media report said President Donald Ramotar has instructed Tourism Minister Irfaan Ali to work towards minimizing the effects on passengers. It further said irate passengers had stormed EZJet’s New York Office after learning about the suspension. Officials said the US decided to suspend EZjet’s operations because the airline owes huge sums to the aircraft lease company. The move by the US has resulted in a number of flights being cancelled.
