Increased Force to tackle crime says Bunting

The National Security Minister Peter Bunting says the Government is focusing on Operations, Communications and Policy & Legislation as it moves to tackle crime.

According to Bunting, the move to increase the number of members in the force is part of the approach.

Yesterday 202 constables graduated from the Jamaica Police Academy

Bunting says the Police Academy has trained 760 recruits and 300 district constables this year.

According to him, this is the most ever.

Turning to the matter of Policy and Legislation, Bunting outlined a number of initiatives including the 2012 National Security Policy.
