SportsBoys' Town win NPL end of round final2012-11-13 08:14:40 | (0 Comments)
Boys' Town defeated Harbour View 2-0 last night to win the end-of-first-round final of the Red Stripe National Premier League.
The game was played at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex. An own goal from defender Rondel Morris put Boys' Town 1-nil ahead in the 21st minute, and Romeo Parkes sealed the victory in the 76th minute with a very low hard shot that deceived the goalkeeper. For the victory, Boys' Town received $250,000 along with a trophy. Harbour View, who are leading the Premiership race by three points ahead of Boys' Town, walked away with $150,000. Goalkeeper Kirk Porter was presented with the Most Valuable Player Award for Boys' Town, while national representative Jermaine Hue was voted the Most Valuable Player for Harbour View. The second round of the Premiership starts on Sunday with a full slate of matches.
