Hannah Town arson trial stalls again

The trial of the four men charged with arson in connection with the destruction of the Hannah Town police station failed to get under way for the second consecutive day in the Home Circuit Court.

The case has been put off until March 18, as the witnesses did not show up.

The same problem hampered the Crown yesterday.

Craig Dawson, Calvin Bernard, Anthony Lawes and Dwayne Robinson are accused of setting the police station on fire in May 2010 during the police operation in West Kingston to capture then fugitive Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke.

Earlier this year, their attorneys complained that the men have been in custody for more than two years and have appeared for a hearing 20 times.

They also took issue with the fact that the main prosecution witness has never attended court.
