No update on alleged child porn

There is no word on the origin or the authenticity of the photograph being circulated which purportedly shows a young girl engaging in a sexual act with a man.

The police yesterday advised that they are probing the matter.

Today, the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences & Child Abuse (CISOCA) says the matter is engaging the attention of the cyber crime unit.

The director of communications at the Jamaica Police Force, Karl Angell says that investigations are still ongoing.

Yesterday the police said that steps are being taken to ascertain the authenticity of the image and its origin.

The police are asking anyone who is able to identify the child to make contact with Crime Stop, the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.

The picture is being circulated on popular social networking websites and on BlackBerry Messenger.
