KSAC moves another phase in licence fee collection drive

2012-11-14 09:05:23 | (0 Comments)

Officials of the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) are expected to be out in full force today to embark on the third phase of its trade licence fee collection drive.

Speaking at yesterday’s KSAC monthly meeting, Mayor of Kingston, Angella Brown-Burke, said the project, which was set to get underway last week, was pushed back because of the recent passage of hurricane Sandy and other issues.

But Brown-Burke said it’s back on stream and will be targeting wholesalers and retailers who have failed to pay the $5,000 component of the trade licensing fee.

Business operators are required to pay $1,000 for the wholesale fee and $5,000 in retail fees.

The Kingston mayor reiterated that the KSAC will be naming persons who operate without a trade license.
