Police report major outcomes from increased operational activities

The Police are reporting that they have had major successes as a result of increase operational activities across the country.

The police say a total of 38,941 persons were arrested and charged during the period January 1 to November 1.

They further say 309 firearms were seized, 450 wanted persons accosted and 3,268 warrants executed.

Meanwhile, the police say over the period 110,238 premises were searched, 194 stolen motor vehicles recovered and 24,451 offensive weapons removed from the streets.

They say up to November 1, the police issued 356,859 traffic tickets.

According to the police, there has also been a reduction of serious violent crimes as a result of increase operations.
