The Meteorological Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St. Mary, Portland, St Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew and St Catherine until 5 o’clock tomorrow morning.
A Flash Flood watch means that flash flooding is possible and residents are advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed by listening to further releases from the Meteorological Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is issued. According to the Met Office, a Trough across Jamaica and the central Caribbean is currently affecting the weather. Satellite images indicate that cloudy conditions and rainfall have been affecting mainly eastern and central parishes throughout today.
