Flash flood watch lifted

2012-11-17 17:12:53 | (0 Comments)

The Meteorological Service has lifted the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St Mary, Portland, St Thomas, Kingston, St Andrew and St Catherine.

The Met Service says a trough which affected weather conditions over Jamaica has drifted away from the island and is now over Hispaniola.

Satellite imagery and rainfall reports indicate that light to moderate showers and isolated thunderstorms affected mainly hilly areas across the island this afternoon.

The projections are for the trough to remain over Hispaniola over the next two to three days.

Weather conditions over Jamaica should return to near normal beginning evening.
