2012-11-18 11:05:52 | (0 Comments)

Several persons suspected to be involved in the lottery scam are now in custody following an operation in St James yesterday.

The police say over US$5,000 and $40,000 as well as a Toyota Altis motorcar and several electronic items were also seized during the raid in Greenwood, St James.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) says 13 persons were arrested and are being held for reasonable suspicion of conspiracy to defraud under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

According to CCN, two of them, 33-year-old Marshall Hyatt and 21-year-old Neil Harding, have already been charged with breaches of the Dangerous Act.

The police say the identities of the others are being withheld pending further investigations.
