Israel has been shelling Gaza for a fifth day, killing at least 12 Palestinians.

Prime Ministe, Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel is ready to "significantly expand" its operation in Gaza.

Rockets fired from Gaza have again hit Israel. Damage and injuries were reported in Ashkelon and Ofakim.

Four children were among the dead in Gaza. Two media buildings were also hit, injuring Palestinian journalists.

Sources on both sides say attempts to reach a ceasefire are continuing.
