JLP faithfuls now gathered for conference

2012-11-18 12:16:06 | (0 Comments)

Scores of Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) delegates and supporters are now gathered at the Jamaica Conference Centre in downtown Kingston, where the party's 67th conference is now underway.

This year’s event, which is being dubbed a delegates’ conference by the party hierarchy, will centre on discussions with delegates about several party and national issues.

JLP leader Andrew Holness says the new format, far removed from the party’s massive conferences held at the National Arena, provides an opportunity for it to bring delegates back to the centre of the decision-making process.

The discussions are expected to focus on party reform, the economy and energy

Holness and other top party officials will address the open session of the conference at approximately 2:00 this afternoon.
