Update: Police kill Banton Gang leader

The police have now confirmed that leader of the infamous Banton Gang was fatally shot this morning in August Town, St Andrew.

The notorious gang leader has been identified as Delroy Scott, otherwise called ‘Banton’.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), in a release issued a short while ago, did not give much details about the incident but said a .357 Magum Revolver with six rounds were seized following the shooting which occurred in Bedward Gardens.

The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre understands that shooting occurred in the community minutes after 11 a.m. today. The CCN said the fatal shooting has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM)

The Banton gang is one of two major criminal gangs operating in the area and had been at odds with arch-rival,the Dog Paw gang.
