NewsVaz adamant on absence from today's JLP conference2012-11-18 12:29:32 | (0 Comments) ![]() Daryl Vaz- file photo His decision comes after controversy with outspoken JLP Member of Parliament, Everald Warmington. His decision stems from Warmington’s submission and subsequent withdrawal of an injunction application in the Supreme Court on Friday. Warmington had filed the application to bar the election of former finance minister, Audley Shaw; former Kingston mayor, Desmond McKenzie and former investment and commerce minister, Dr Christopher Tufton, who he claimed were all nominated in breach of the party’s constitution. Shaw and Tufton have also taken issue with Warmington’s actions, calling it selective and questioning whether the action was one of principle or a personal agenda. And addressing delegates this morning, JLP general secretary Aundre Franklyn, said the candidates were not at fault and instead blamed the breach on a glitch in the process.
