The City Centre Police are investigating a suspected case of drowning in downtown Kingston.

The body of an unidentified man was pulled from the sea at Victoria Pier.

The police say yesterday morning people at the pier saw the body in the water and raised an alarm.

The police responded, pulled the body from the water, and removed it to the morgue for post mortem.

The dead man is of dark complexion, medium build and about 173 centimetres or 5 feet 8 inches tall.

The police say the man, who is believed to have been in his forties, was dressed in a multi-coloured shirt and a pair of khaki pants.
