The National Works Agency (NWA) is spending approximately $18 million to carry out much-needed repairs to the Chalky Hill road in St Ann.

NWA Communications Manager, Stephen Shaw, said work being undertaken involves rehabilitation and patching.

The road is used mainly by trailers and other heavy duty vehicles which are not allowed to traverse the Fern Gully road.

Buses plying the Montego Bay to Kingston route are also heavy users of Chalky Hill road.

Work on the roadway is expected to be completed in December.
