A 15-year-old male student of the Kemps Hill High School in Clarendon is among five persons now in serious condition in hospital, following a motor vehicle crash along the Bustamante Highway this morning.

Reports indicate that the child’s lung was punctured during the crash as well as three ribs broken.

The extent of the injuries to the others, including the driver of the bus, is not known at this time.

A passenger in the bus said the crash happened after a taxi drove onto the highway before allowing the bus to stop.

He told our news centre that the driver of the taxi appeared to have been fleeing personnel from the Transport Authority.
