NewsCourt lifts curfew order for Ninja for the holiday2012-11-19 12:31:03 | (0 Comments) ![]() Dancehall artiste Ninja man - file photo. The Home Circuit Court has temporarily lifted the curfew order that was imposed on murder accused Ninja Man, whose real name is Desmond Ballentine. The waiver will expire on January 7 next year. This means that the dancehall artiste will be free to perform throughout the festive season. In July this year, a judge relaxed Ninja Man’s curfew order allowing him to perform four nights each week. Previously, a term of his $2-million bail condition was that he be at home between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night. But when the matter was raised in court this morning, his lawyer Valerie Neita Robertson told Senior Pusine Judge Gloria Smith, that despite the variation in the bail condition, the restriction was affecting the earning potential of the artiste especially for the festive season. The judge then decided to lift the order. The trial of the murder case against Ninja Man was also put off to May 13 next year. The matter could not be heard because Neita Robertson is now appearing in the matter concerning the three policemen charged in connection with the Boulevard murder case. Ninja Man and his son are on bail in the sum of $2 million each for the murder of Richard Johnson. Dennis Clayton and Seymour Samuels are also charged with the March 16, 2009 murder.
