Two men are to face the court tomorrow in relation to breaches of the Dangerous Drug Act.
Thirty-three-year-old Marshall Hyatt and 21-year-old Neil Harding, were charged over the weekend, following a massive operation in St. James. They were among 13 persons suspected to be involved in the lottery scam, who were detained. Head of the Lottery Scam Task Force, Superintendent Leon Clunis, said the other persons have been profiled and released. He says the police are awaiting the enactment of legislation to allow persons found with paraphernalia related to the lottery scam to be charged directly with those offences. The police said more than US$5,000 and J$40,000 as well as a Toyota Altis motorcar and several electronic items were seized during the raid in Greenwood, St. James over the weekend.
