3000 pounds of ganja seized in St Ann

A man is now dead and 11 people in police custody following the seizure of about 3,000 pounds of ganja in St. Ann last night.

The police say the unidentified man drowned while trying to escape from the police during a joint military operation in Ocho Rios St. Ann.

Reports indicate that the unidentified man and several others jumped from a boat while the police were trying to apprehend them.

The man is said to have drowned while the others were taken into custody.

The police say two motor boats, a truck and several motor vehicles were also seized during the operation.
