IMF deal by January says Jamaican Government

2012-11-21 17:01:16 | (0 Comments)

Minister with responsibility for information Senator Sandrea Falconer conceded that an IMF deal might not be finalised by December.

Senator Falconer was speaking at a Jamaica House Press Briefing this morning.

However, she said she’s expecting that it will be in place by January.

She also said the People's National Party administration is working to get what she describes as the best deal for the Jamaican people.

Yesterday in Parliament the finance minister, Dr. Peter Phillips insisted that the IMF negotiations are going according to schedule.

However, he noted that the conditions of the deal have not yet been settled.
