The Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/Gatorade/Digicel Walker Cup KO final between Wolmer's Boys' and Jamaica College has been reduced to to a 10-man contest, with Wolmer's leading 1-0.
Wolmer's national Under-20 striker, Jason Wright, was given a straight red card for striking JC's Alando Brown in the 83rd minute of the match at the National Stadium on Saturday. Jamaica College's captain, Junior Flemming, has earlier been shown the red card at the 65th minute. A 15th-minute goal by Demar Rose handed Wolmer's the lead. Rose's goal, a header off Kamar Osbourne's cross, had Wolmer's leading after full time (90 minutes) in the opening game of the Corporate Area double-header of schoolboy football finals. Four minutes have been added for stoppages. The game, that kicked off at 2 p.m. and was dominated by Wolmer's in the first half, will be followed by the Manning Cup final between title-holders St George's College and first-time finalists Hydel High. sports@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
