A woman is now dead after she was hit by a Gas Pro tanker transporting cooking gas this morning.

The incident happened shortly after 10 o’ clock along the Steerfield Main Road in St. Ann.

An eyewitness told our news centre that the driver was speeding around a corner when the back of the truck dislodged from the front and hit the woman, who was walking along the roadside.

The eyewitness said the unidentified woman was pinned under the tanker and dragged several feet.

The Traffic Police have confirmed the crash and are investigating.
