Devon Rowe is new financial secretary

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced the appointment of Devon Rowe as Financial Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Planning.

Rowe, a graduate of the Universities of the West Indies and Harvard has over twenty-five years experience in the public service in areas of fiscal policy and local government.
He succeeds Dr Wesley Hughes who has retired.
The PSC has also confirmed that Elaine Foster-Allen, Principal of Shortwood Teachersí College has been appointed as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education.
Foster-Allen, a graduate of the Universities of Nottingham and Birmingham, has more than 30 years in the field of education in Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
She was instrumental in the establishment of the National Education Inspectorate in the Ministry of Education.
