WI beat Bangladesh by 118 runs in warm-up match

West Indies defeated a Bangladesh Cricket Board Eleven side by 118 runs in their limited overs warm up game at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna today.

Electing to bat, West Indies piled up 361 for seven and then dismissed the Bangladesh Cricket Board Eleven side for 243 off 49.1 overs.

Lendl Simmons top scored for West Indies with 87, while Devon Thomas hit 61 not out.

Kieron Pollard 44, Kieran Powell 34, Darren Bravo 31 and Dwayne Smith 30 all got among the runs.

Jamaican Andre Russell who joined the team this week scored 18 from 20 balls, while Sunil Narine contributed an undefeated 21.

The Jamaican pair of Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels were rested.

Narine then returned to take three for 47 from 10 overs to restrict the home side.

Kemar Roach and Veerasammy Permaul ended with two wickets each.

Mominul Haque and Imrul Kayes scored 43 runs each for the Bangladesh Cricket Board Eleven side.

West Indies are preparing to face Bangladesh in five One-Day Internationals and one Twenty20 International. The series bowls off on Friday.
