Former deputy commissioner of police Mark Shields is expected to take the witness stand today at the Boulevard murder trial. Constables Louie Lynch and Paul Edwards and Assistant Superintendent of Police Victor Barrett are on trial for the murders of Kemar Walters and Oliver Duncan. In 2004, Walters and Duncan were taken away by policemen from a plaza along Washington Boulevard, St Andrew. The prosecution is claiming that the men were killed that same day. The hearing, which is now in its fifth week, was adjourned on Monday to allow two jurors time to attend to personal matters. DCP Shields was instrumental in the reopening of the case of the disappearance of Walters and Duncan.
