There is uncertainty as to whether the Public Defender Earl Witter will meet today’s deadline to submit the long-awaited report on the May 2010 police/military operation in Tivoli Gardens, West Kingston.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Michael Peart, said Witter told him earlier this month that the report would be sent to Parliament no later than the end of November.

However when contacted this morning, Witter would only say he will be addressing the issue of deadlines in his report.

The public defender has missed several deadlines.

He told journalists recently that he would give no new deadlines for submitting his report to the Parliament.

However, he indicated that the findings of his two-year probe would be released shortly.

He also complained that a critical staff shortage was among the reason for the delay.
