Montague tables questions

2012-11-30 12:23:30 | (0 Comments)

Daraine Luton, Senior Staff Reporter

Opposition Senator Robert Montague has tabled questions in the Senate in an effort to find out if the Chairman of the Parish Council Services Commission is related to a minister of Government.

Montague has asked House Leader AJ Nicholson to say whether the chairman is related to a minister by blood or marriage.

He says it is important that when independent commissions make a ruling there’s no aroma of collusion or political bias particularly in regard to the employment of civil servants.

He has also asked that Nicholson say whether there is an established policy regarding the appointment by ministers, members of commissions and boards, who are family members of ministers of Government.
